Supporting Barrington Children Since 2000

The Barrington School Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports and collaborates with our public schools.  We aim to support educational initiatives and innovative projects in the Barrington schools. Our mission of enhancing learning opportunities beyond those typically provided by public funds and assuring the children of Barrington, NH reap the benefits of their public school experiences is made possible through donations and an endowment.

2023 StoryWalk!

Sunday, Oct 15, 2023  was the Jumpstart to Literacy's StoryWalk and it was a blast! Over 100 people (51 kiddos and their grown ups) came to enjoy Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type (by Doreen Cronin, illustrated by Betsy Lewin) and the beautiful walk through the ECLC's OWL's nest. Kiddos tried out some typewriters too! Recipients of the Excellence In Education Award came to hand out copies of the book to each family as well. It was such a wonderful day.  THANK YOU to everyone who came and helped make it happen.

Pickle Power 2023!

Many thanks to Calef's Country Store.  The pickle kits fundraiser was not only delicious and fun, it supported BSF's initiatives of early literacy! Thank you to everyone who participated in the fundraiser and to Calef's...PICKLE POWER!

Thank you Verizon!

We must thank the Verizon Wireless Zone in Lee once again.  We collaborated with them to get 40 backpacks full of school supplies to End68 Hours of Hunger Barrington. Thank you for your generosity and support of our town's children.

Thank You Don Marcotte Flooring

Even though we fell short of our NHGives goal/challenge of 25 donations..... Don Marcotte Flooring made a $100 donation to BSF anyways! We are so appreciative of your generosity.  Thank you for helping us support Barrington's children and educators.

Thank you Verizon Wireless!

We simply must thank the Verizon Wireless Zone in Lee, NH for their recent donation. They gave $500 to BSF to help us continue to support early literacy in our town.  We are so appreciative of their generosity. Thank you SO much!

Summer Essentials Bags for End68 Participants

For the 5th year, we were delighted to create 18 Summer Essentials bags for the participants of End 68 Hours of Hunger. Each bag included: dominoes, dominoes game print-outs, sunblock, bug repellent bracelets, drawing pad, jump ropes/jump rope games print outs, scratch art, bubbles, AAA activity maps, list of little free libraries nearby, and 5 books! We hope the recipients have a safe, creative, and fun summer!

Thank you for supporting us in NH Gives!

NH Gives – an initiative of the NH Center for Nonprofits - is a powerful, statewide 24-hour online fundraising event designed to build community and generate excitement about NH's nonprofits.

BSF participated for the first time this year. It was our biggest online fundraiser to date and we were blown away by the generosity of our community.  Thank you so much for donating to the Barrington School Foundation.

Excellence in Education 2022-2023

On Tuesday, June 6th, the Barrington School Foundation was thrilled to present the 2022-2023 Excellence in Education award to the Kindergarten Team at the Early Childhood Learning Center.

The heart of the ECLC Kindergarten Team is collaboration. It is constantly woven into the way they work together. They share clear goals and vision for the education and development of their students. Together, they prioritize what’s important for each students' success.

The ECLC Kindergarten team is adaptable and flexible in their approach to teaching. They are willing to try new approaches and strategies, and they are open to feedback and suggestions from one another.

Mr. Tubbs is the master of creativity and meaningful learning. Mrs. Burnap asks the right questions of the team and provides differentiated instruction moving all students to high levels of success. Mrs. Cole quietly observes and inserts wisdom when the time is right and calmly connects with her students. Ms. Frost influences the social and emotional needs of students and moves them to higher learning at their own pace. Mrs. Godbout is masterful at curriculum implementation and her students thrive with her consistency and care. Mrs. Cavvicci holds all the details and builds relationships with her students that motivate them to be their best selves.

Each teacher brings a unique set of qualities to the highly collaborative team making them winners of the Excellence in Education Award for the 2022-2023 school year. Their highly collaborative ways have created a positive learning environment for students, families, colleagues, and the Barrington Community.

The team received a plaque and $500; each teacher received a certificate and (Barrington's most delicious) cookie.

Teacher Appreciation Week @ BMS

This year we filled baskets with popcorn, granola bars, apples, and bananas for the teachers at Barrington Middle School during Teacher Appreciation Week.  We just had to put in some chocolates too. Iced coffee was put in all the fridges too.  We hope they enjoyed these (mostly) healthy snacks.

BMS book drive was a success!

Thank you to all who donated to our BMS book drive in May. We received many excellent books for middle school readers. These wonderful stories will be included in the Summer Essentials Bags we create for Barrington kids who participate in End68 Hours of Hunger.

Peeper 5K & Running Readers

Once again the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce's Peeper 5K was a blast.

Thank you to everyone who participated on our Running Readers team. And thank you to everyone who came by the Kid Zone to play, pick up a book, or say hello to us.

Thank you Emery Farm!

Thank you Emery Farm! We are so appreciative of your support.

Thank you New & Again!

We must thank the New and Again Thrift Store for Charity for their generous donation to the Barrington School Foundation! We were one of New And Again's quarterly charities and they gave us $1,000 to continue our work with Barrington's students and educators. We are so appreciative of their commitment to our community and generosity. Thank you!

Fun @ Trunk or Treat!

Saturday's Trunk or Treat was a BLAST! We had so much fun seeing kids get excited about our Mo Willems-themed trunk. Thank you to all who made it such a fun-filled afternoon.

Storywalk: Sunshine & Smiles

We held our annual Jumpstart to Literacy event on Sunday, October 16th, 2022.  It was a storywalk at the OWL's (Outdoor & Woodland Learning) Nest located behind the Barrington Early Childhood Learning Center's playground.  The story was Inch By Inch by Leo Leoni.

Twenty nine families came (55 kiddos and 49 adults)! Families received a copy of the book and an extension activities handout. We were delighted to see so many Barrington families enjoying the beautiful fall day and children's literature at the same time.

Thank you Fabulous Find!
